What we collect
When you run a free scan: your first name, last name, state, and email address.
When you subscribe: the same information above, plus payment details, which are handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we do not store your card information ourselves.
When you browse our site: standard analytics data (pages visited, general location, device type) through Google Analytics, and basic technical logs from our hosting provider.
How we use it
- To search public data broker listings for your information and file removal requests on your behalf
- To send you your scan results and account-related emails
- To process your subscription payment
- To improve the site and understand how visitors use it (via aggregated analytics)
If you run a free scan and don’t subscribe
We don’t keep your name on file. Your information is deleted, or reduced to a one-way fingerprint that can’t be reversed back into your original data — a method similar in spirit to how California’s state-run DROP program handles non-enrolled records (ScrubTrace is not affiliated with DROP or the State of California). Your real information only enters our active system once you subscribe and ask us to act on it.
If you subscribe
We retain your information for as long as your subscription is active, so we can keep monitoring and refiling removal requests. If you cancel, we delete your information within 30 days. If you resubscribe later, we start fresh and reacquire your information as a new customer.
Who we share it with
- Data brokers, only as required to file a removal/opt-out request in your name — we don’t sell or share your information for marketing purposes
- Stripe, to process payments
- Google, for site analytics (Google Analytics) and search visibility (Search Console)
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties, ever
Cookies
Our site uses standard cookies for basic functionality (like remembering your login if you have an account) and analytics cookies (via Google Analytics) to understand site traffic. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what information we have on file, correct it, or delete it, at any time, by emailing support@scrubtrace.com.
Children’s privacy
ScrubTrace is not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and note the date above.
